A day out painting en plein air with a fellow artist, turned cold and blustery. We were in Booderee National Park, Jervis Bay and having packed up decided to head up to the Ruined Lighthouse. Standing on the edge felt a bit risky as the wind was whipping up from out to sea, I turned around and was stunned by the cloud formations coming up behind us. The bushes had not yet recovered from a recent fire and I was taken by the contrast of them against the sky. This study is from that outing.
