Vanessa finds herself consistently captivated by various landscapes, still-life compositions, and living beings, particularly the vistas of the South Coast. This region offers me a vibrant, metaphorical lexicon, and when placed in unconventional settings, it sparks profound conversations for the spirit.
Vanessa earned her Masters in Fine Art in 1999, followed by a Diploma in Transpersonal Art Therapy several years later. It was during her second program that I recognised the healing powers of art, benefiting both the creator and the observer.
I perceive our journeys as marked by cycles of endings and new beginnings; despite the challenges that accompany these losses, they often lead to growth and renewal following hardship.
The essence of my artwork is rooted in our ability to heal, create, endure, and transform. Embrace the darkness, for it will guide you towards the light in the end.
