Inspired by the rugged beauty of the Great Ocean Road, The Breaking light is an seascape that captures the tranquil power of the ocean bathed in early morning light. I sought to evoke the dusty, hazy glow of sunrise as it casts warm amber tones across the coastal cliffs and sea stacks. The sunlight filters through the curling wave, revealing a luminous bottle-green glow within the water’s body. Subtle tonal shifts and the use of analogous and complimentary colours in the sky help to balance warmth and coolness, creating a sense of depth, movement, and atmosphere. This work captures the balance of land, sea, and light in a single moment.
