Beneath the Cresting Wave
91.5x 45.5cm
Oil on Canvas
Hand Crafted Aus Black Butt timber floating frame
Looking south at Brooms Head, this piece captures the powerful contrast between the rugged shoreline and the surging energy of the ocean. The painting draws attention to the clarity of the shallows, the textures of the coastal rocks, and the moment just before a wave crashes — its translucent crest lit by the sun. Dramatic storm clouds forming on the horizon makes for a perfect recipe for a rough ocean. While the green headland anchors the composition with a peaceful, grounded presence. This work reflects my ongoing focus on refining my love for reflections and the translucency of water.
