Path to the Sea

Hand Crafted timber floating frame
This dynamic seascape captures the awe-inspiring energy of the ocean as waves explode against rugged coastal rocks under a bright, windswept sky. Inspired by a tutorial from my mentor, Andrew Tischler, this piece reflects both technical discipline and personal interpretation.
The composition leads the eye along a winding rivulet that cuts through the beach—an ephemeral path formed by retreating tides or fresh rain—guiding the viewer from the textured pebbles in the foreground out toward the crashing surf. Light glistens on the wet sand and surf spray, while turquoise barrels roll with translucent depth, frozen in a moment of raw power and motion. The dramatic rock face on the right anchors the scene with strength and contrast, its angular shadows contrasting the fluidity of the water.
This painting celebrates the ever-changing dialogue between land and sea and reflects my continuing journey in refining realism while honouring nature’s untamed beauty.
